The working principle of the welding mask

A welding mask is a tool used to protect workers during welding and cutting operations. Colloquially known as welding cap.

Generally speaking, the solar power photocontrolled welding mask can clearly see the welder before arc, and automatically darken at the moment of arc. Photocontrolled electric welding mask is a new type of electric welding mask using light detection technology and liquid crystal technology. Auto Darkening Welding Helmet is based on the principle that the inner photoelectric sensing circuit triggers the LCD control circuit by amplifying the light (mainly infrared or ultraviolet light) generated during welding. According to the preset light transmittance, the corresponding driving signal is applied to the liquid crystal (transmissive TN liquid crystal) of the mask.

The liquid crystal as a light valve will change its transmittance. It will filter out the infrared and ultraviolet rays that are harmful to human eyes produced by welding. It also reduces the glare to a level that the human eye can withstand. Compared with the traditional welding mask, it can not only protect the health of the operator, but also clearly observe the whole process of welding. It is an ideal alternative to the traditional welding mask.
